Experienced and Working For You
Thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign website. I hope that you find the information useful as you reach a decision in the upcoming election. I’ve had the pleasure to represent the 66th Assembly district for the past eight years. The district includes the western part of Kenosha County and the City and the Town of Burlington in Racine County.
Your views on the issues are important to me. Feel free to contact me to share your ideas and thoughts on how to tackle the difficult issues together. This is the time we have to work together to keep our state moving in the right direction.

Republican from Randall seeks fifth term as state representative
Samantha Kerkman, 34, a Republican from Randall, doesn't fit everyone's image of a state representative.
She doesn't try to take over every meeting, and she actually does listen more than she talks. Nevertheless, she's been elected to four terms to the state Assembly. Now she's running for a fifth term for the district that stretches from Somers to the western edge of Kenosha County.
On key issues, such as freezing taxes, defining marriage as one man and one woman and permitting the carrying of concealed weapons, she has been a reliable follower of the Republican leaders in the Assembly, a group this newspaper's editorial board disagrees with on many policy matters.
But she has been an effective partner with Kenosha County's other representatives in Madison, all of whom have been Democrats, and she has been able to work with members of both parties to pass legislation exempting Social Security payments from state income taxes and to enact a law that helps eliminate family disputes over funerals.
Her challenger is Democrat Larry Zamba, 51, a professional photographer who lives in Brighton.
Zamba brings a lot of energy and promotional flair to the campaign, and his statements on health care, energy, transportation and other issues indicate he is likely to be a reliable supporter of the Democratic leaders leaders in the Assembly.
However, other factors besides policy positions sometimes bear heavily on political contests. Samantha Kerkman, while not the stereotypical member of the Assembly, has established relationships with her constituents and with other members of the Legislature that make her effective in Madison and in the district.
Samantha Kerkman is a good fit for the 66th District. We endorse her re-election.
